WhatsApp has announced that it will soon stop working on millions of phones around the world.

This means that users on a range of older handsets may end up losing access to the messaging app.
Facebook-owned WhatsApp has confirmed that it will stop supporting these phones on December 31. The company stressed that any phone running the Windows Mobile operating system will not have access after this date.
iPhone software that runs older than iOS 7 will no longer be supported, nor will any Android devices running version 2.3.7. So the iPhones that are working heavily with iOS 7 will not work, as well as Android 2.3.7 known as 'Gingerbread'.
WhatsApp said that anyone who uses these older phones can no longer create new accounts or revalue existing accounts.
Dates when WhatsApp stopped working on some phones and some that would soon stop:
December 31, 2017 - BlackBerry OS and BlackBerry 10
December 31, 2018 - Nokia S40
December 31, 2019 - Windows Mobile
